  • 1.  Sage 100 2024 Premium: AR Invoice Printing Fails on One Company Only

    • Sage 100 2024 Premium
    • When attempting to print or quick-print an AR invoice within one company code, the application closes without warning, error message, or displaying the print dialog box.

    • Key Symptom: If I try Quick Print, the print dialog box does appear - it rapidly cycles through different printers (starting with the workstations default windows printer and ending on Adobe Acrobat) and then the print screen immediately closes.

    • Windows 11 is NOT managing the default windows printer
    • Testing in another company code works ( same workstation, user )

    Windows 11 desktop - not connected via RDP

    We tried deleting AR Invoice batch but the issue persists in this company code

    My leading suspicion is something in SY_ReportSetting

    I tried having them re-load paperless drivers and that didn't produce any different outcome.

    Thoughts?

    Paperless path / security on that folder?

    That's a possibility because one of the "could anything have changed yesterday" was that the user reported finding some paperless files in a different location. Now how that would all relate back is unknown.

    It also almost looks like pl_advancedoptions_ui might be trying to install a paperless driver. What's throwing me is that if I switch to a different company code I can print AR Invoices just fine with the same user / workstation combination.

    Unfortunately this client went through a reorganization so they locked down all their remote access so what should have taken 15 minutes to diagnose is now a 2 hour Teams meeting to share screens.

    Check the Paperless settings to see if there are company specific entries / paths.  That could easily explain the company specific issues.

    Update on the solution to this issue: 

    I visited this client today and the SY_ReportSetting is what I determined was the cause of the issues. The field for "Printer Name" was holding an invalid printer. To workaround this I deleted the setting and created a new form code. The RPT file was fine and printed with no issues.
