  • 1.  Sage 100 2020 to 2024 And Having issue With Act Link - Record 'A/L' is missing from "memory"

    I'm working on a Sage 100 2020 Advanced to Sage 100 2024.1 Advanced.

    There are all sorts of enhancements that this customer is no longer using. And many ( most ) of them do not have an uninstall nor do I have access to disks for Sage 100 v2024 because the customer is no longer on plan, etc ( stop me if you've heard this one before .... )

    Anyhow - I get 2020 to 2024.1 to migrate and convert data without any errors.  

    When I try to go into Role Maintenance to modify the existing roles I'm hit with this errror which I believe is related to the old Act Link ( A/L ). 

    I'm hoping someone had dealt with this before and has a way for me to get around this error so I can setup/maintain role maintenance.

    Record 'A/L' is missing from "memory"

    I tried taking all the A/L records from SY_RoleSecurity.M4T but that did not seem to be the answer I'm looking for as I get the same error when I try to go back into Role Maintenance to create or edit a role.

    Any suggestions here?

    Look in sy0ctl for a lA/L record and delete it (lowercase L plus A/L)  Also look for A/L record in mas_system\sy_module.m4t.

    Check SY_Task and SY_Menu for the bad module...

    It looks like SY_TASK was the file that did the trick. Once I took any of the values where the module was "A/L" I was able to get into role maintenance. Now to see if that causes an issue somewhere else...

    Yes, I am dealing with a bad IRP install with this exact error, and the short term fix is removing the SY_Task rows. 

    (SY_Menu rows for IRP being missing is part of the "bad IRP install" problem...).
