Sage 100 2017 PR question on Fringe benefits. Does anyone know how to keep gross wages from a Fringe Benefit from being included in local wages? It is supposed to be included in Fed and State but supposed to be excluded from gross wages for the local city. According to the city tax code. As far as I can tell, earnings code setup allows exclusion from withholding but not wages. Will they have to do a manual fix at the end of the year to adjust gross wages by the amount based on a report?

I believe if you change Earnings Code Maintenance, Earnings Code XX, Subject to Local Tax, Withholding to ""No"", it excludes the code from withholding and excludes the $$ from Wages. I would try a test payroll and then check Tax Summary on an employee to see if it works.

@JaneCavanaugh Unfortunately that is not the case. Even if leaving the local taxes unchecked it still populates wages.

I tried it using the Earnings Code = Regular and Tax = No and it worked. It must be that Earnings Code = Fringe is different. Bummer.

Well, hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a WAD....
