Sage 100 2016.3 Standard Is there any way for the freight amount to remain in the freight field after changing the Ship Via from one shipping type to another. Customer would like it to stay, however, default behavior appears to be that the freight amount is zeroed out when you change ship via. Have I missed an option which would allow the shipping $$ to remain after changing ship via types?

I _think_ the 'Use Shipping Code to Calculate Freight' setting in S/O might have an impact on that: Select an option to define how to calculate freight. Select Yes to use preset shipping codes to calculate freight charges. Select No to manually enter all freight charges, or if freight charges are not required. Select Actual to calculate freight charges using the total weight of all items ordered; this option allows you to use ship codes and the actual weights from the Item file and is available only if the Inventory Management module is integrated with Sales Order. Individual shipping codes are defined in Shipping Rate Maintenance.

I'd also look at how the freight codes are set up.

I agree with @BrettZimmerman - I think you need to tweak these settings. I have had clients complain when they enter fixed rates in SO data entry . The solution is in this set up.

That's it. I was looking for that option and skimmed over it easily 5x before posting the message.

The bad part about changing that to NO is that you also can't add new Shipping codes in Shipping Rate Maintenance. You will have to turn it back to Yes, add the codes, then turn it back to No. I would love Sage to add a 4th option that says Use Codes but Do Not Calc Freight that lets you add Shipping Codes (and calculate the total Weight, which you lose when you change it to No).

Does Sage ever make this easy on us. Their 90% solutions always have a step backwards involved.
