Sage 100 2014 customer suddenly getting prompted to install Sage Exchange 2.0. Does it now work with 2014 or do I need to tell them to not install it?

I don't know if it works with V2014. I installed it on my demo Sage and I'll let you know that it takes at least 5 minutes for it to ""move data."" The window stays on top of the window blocking everything behind it, which means you cannot work on your system while it's installing. When it's done with the ""move data,"" it does something else (install, I think) which didn't take long and then asks if it should remove the V1.0. I said yes and that took only a minute.

I am not seeing it with 2014 customers. 2015 and later seem to be getting it though. No idea about 2014. I am seeing that Exchange 1.0 is not uninstalling. It remains in the system tray and 2.0 does not appear yet. It does not appear to be giving problems at this point.

I got the same prompt and several clients have called. I told them to click on ""remind me later"". @PhilipWhirley ?? Thoughts please.

Our local install of MAS is 2013. 2 of my office staff got the update request and I noted that they had 1.0 installed. I do not have 1.0 installed and I am not getting prompt. I guess I have to install it manually. From KB: [cid:image001.jpg@01D2E8DB.B9B7D480]

It seems to work fine with Sage 100 v2014. I tested adding cards and doing preauthorizations and had no trouble. Sage Exchange v2 is designed and intended to work just fine with all versions of Sage 100 from 2013. The fundamental APS for card processing has not changed, but new features have been added. After I installed v2 and uninstalled v1 then started Sage 100 2014, a standard Sage prompt popped up telling me that Sage Exchange needed to install, even though it was already running. I clicked Retry with no success. I then went to the Windows System Tray (lower right), right-clicked on the Sage Exchange 2 icon and told it to ""Restart Application"". Once I did that Sage 100 accepted the new Sage Exchange and allowed me to continue.

Going a bit off topic, but will the new Exchange allow users to delete cards that have expired in the vault? Or is this a Sage interface issue? I don't see the logic as to why this isn't an option. Maybe add a role security feature to allow??

We've timed the entire process at about 8 minutes. However, we are just using demo data. Any idea if this will take longer should the user have lots of credit cards, or is that irrelevant?

Supposedly 2.0 works with 2015 & higher. A KB article says 1.0 can be reinstalled after 2.0 has been installed for those older versions. Related resources AR for Sage 100 SED 2.0 Update How to Uninstall and Re-install the Sage Exchange Desktop (SED) v1.x Additional information Sage Exchange Desktop must also be installed on the server if running Sage 100 Advanced or Premium Sage Exchange Desktop version 1.0 will be automatically uninstalled during installation of 2.0 If SED 1.0 is still required to do processing in an older version of Sage 100, it can be reinstalled after SED 2.0 is installed. Sage Exchange Desktop is required to add credit cards to the Sage Exchange Vault even if you are not processing credit cards with Sage Payment Solutions. The record is placed in a Vault-Only when adding a credit card to a customer in Accounts Receivable Customer Maintenance. In some instances, the Sage Exchange Desktop will not properly install on one or more workstations. In some cases, firewall and antivirus were found to be the cause.. In a few other cases where it installs and works on some workstations, but not on others, the problem was a corrupted Windows profile. It's possible that this has ""hung"" on one of my customers installs. If so, I plan to notify all customers to hold off on installing until such time as Sage is able to deliver a self-install that actually self-installs.

I'm at 20+ minutes of the ""In progress.."". I'll be advising customers to ""install later"" when the Sage support numbers aren't so jammed.

It installed on my local, but the couple of clients that contacted us I've advised to install later. By the way, I checked in with Century Biz, as one of the clients that reported to us uses eBizCharge. They say it shouldn't affect them. I reached out because I recall that Sage Exchange needed to install on their system the last time we upgraded them, even though they don't use SPS. Still, maybe tomorrow . . .

I believe the SED v2.0 is on the v2017 install DVD. It has to be installed from the DVD, it is not an auto installation any more. In case you want to download it directly, here is the link. I've decided to install it for prior versions if I have to get involved. Why do it twice. https://www.sageexchange.com/install/

Better to install from the website all the time - it will save an upgrade step on SED

I had another call yesterday. Sage 100 2013. I'm unclear how far down the self-install road they went. It was giving them a ""please wait while installing"" type message. I have them Sage's 800 number and advised this is a problem Sage pushed automatically without warning and Sage is the one who needs to fix it.

I agree with @PhilMcIntosh - I will do all my SED 1 or 2 from the full download. It provided the ability to ""run as administrator"" and also seems to give a very detailed installation log. Sage is running a silent (auto) install which gives no details when the install crashes and burns.

Technically, is it Sage Payments who pushed it? We've been giving feedback to Sage about looping us in, maybe we need to give that feedback to SPS. Detached left hand of the right hand.

I was just informed that the new Sage Exchange has a bug. it doesn't tell you any longer if the card number you typed in is invalid, it just hangs while processing, Sage knows about it and they are working on the issue. I did not see this directly, but one of our clients did and called Sage directly then passed the info on to us, so I'm just passing on to others.

I do not, but I'll see if I can find out, the client installed it himself on several workstations and called SPS support on his own and pointed it out to them. I believe this all happened yesterday so I assume it was the latest version available yesterday; I'm trying to confirm that now

@WayneSchulz SED version 2.0.2.14. Issue is not a process hang rather it does not give you the notification the number is entered incorrectly.
