@RobertWood My thinking is that if we were to go with Yammer that we'd put the technical groups into external networks. The theory being that if you were to put them into the full Yammer Groups -- then anyone who already had a Yammer internally might have problems logging in without logging out first from their existing Yammer --- and if they have a Yammer already I don't think that they'd able to access the External Network from inside their company's Yammer while using the web client (I think at the current moment only the mobile apps allow that - iPad/iPhone and maybe Android). The downside to External Networks is they are not searchable from the main Yammer -- you have to individually search them because they are considered outside of Yammer. The upside is we might be able to get away with using them for free. We might also be able to get away with all the 90 Minds using Yammer initially for free provide they all were open to logging in with their xxx@90Minds.com address.

The desktop app also allows multiple account access at once. We need to minimize the External Networks then, but it's probably a good thing to be able to search just the support section. Let me know what you need me to do to help.

I just sent Yammer a request to open the 90 Minds Yammer for a 2 week trial (you should be able to login with your 90Minds email) so we can test. I'm concerned that we don't lock out anyone who may already have a yammer account from being able to participate. Ideally I would like one point of search and I was thinking of doing that by moving all the content into a group -- until I realized that group access may be problematic for someone already using Yammer. I guess we just have to test it for a week or two.

I'm not seeing where I can access multiple Yammer accounts at once via desktop. If my account has been added to external networks it does appear under the networks tab. However if I'm in my wayne@90minds.com yammer I cannot switch to my waynes@dsdinc.com yammer without logging out. Did I miss a config?

In the drop down for communities, the bottom of the menu is Manage Accounts. You can add accounts to that.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Socialcast? I can't find this on my Yammer desktop software.

I'm sure. See the two examples attached.

Is that the Adobe Air client? I just downloaded the latest and I don't have that -- though I'm on a MAC and maybe there's a different app for Windows.

It is the adobe air client. It's been like that for a while. The apps may be different, but I thought the purpose of Adobe Air was they didn't have to develop different clients.

What does your version say? I'm looking at 300204. My guess is that a different version might be served to MAC users though I thought Air was supposed to take care of that. The UI that I see is different as well.
