Robert's Rules and voting
To request a roll call vote, the majority of the voting body would have to vote for a roll call vote. In that case, each person and their vote is entered into the minutes. It's in Article VI Sections 38-39. I'm using the pocket guide Robert's Rules and it is much abbreviated. Any member can request a roll call vote be taken or they can ask for the vote be taken by ""Yeas and Nays"". The body then votes on that request, I don't believe a second is required. If it passes, then the individual votes are recorded into the minutes. If not, they aren't.
In the case of voting by Unanimous consent, if anyone objects, we then take a vote by yea/nay but in aggregate unless someone specifically asks for a roll call vote. In which case, we'd do a simple verbal yea/nay on whether or not to have a roll call vote and then pending that result proceed.
At the conclusion of any vote, the Chairman should announce the result in the form of ""The motion is carried--the resolution is adopted"".
