Robert and I were chatting this morning and we think that it would be a good idea to open a 90 Minds specific Evernote account at $45 per year where we maintain our group knowledgebase. This KB would be selected snippets that we copy/paste into Evernote. In turn the notebook could be shared to 90 Minds Senior member as: a. Read only b. Full access (most likely a select group of editors) 1. Why not just search Socialcast? The search on Socialcast is not robust. Plus with Evernote the information can be synchronized to an offline database automatically and accessed/searched easily from virtually any mobile. 2. Why not just use Google Docs Can be done but Evernote will be smoother - allow members to take a full copy of the KB offline with them 3. Who would have access? This would be a benefit of 90 Minds Senior members only 4. Why not an online tool -- or the web site We've been searching but have not found anything as easy or cheap to use as Evernote 5. Can we embed Evernote online if we want We can make the notebook shareable and have a link be saved online if we want 6. What will the notebook look like? Here is an example from Wayne's personal Evernote notebook where I have started to create a mini-KB (I will transfer all this to the 90 Minds KB) https://www.evernote.com/pub/mas90guru/sage100 7. Can we allow non-Senior Members to contribute? The Evernote notebook has a secure email address where anyone can mail in notes for inclusion to the KB. This email address can be changed as required. I think we should do this and take it on as a group project for Senior Members. I'm not opposed to sharing it with the entire group but think it also might be a good incentive for people to work to be a full Senior Member by contributing actively.

Portability??? Is there a way to ""dump"" Socialcast history into it? For $45/year, Let's try it.

It will be easier than trying to maintain a wiki.

Copy and paste is probably the best way. If one of the editors open the thread up and use one a evernote plugin they can copy the thread in and it will retain the link back to the original post. I say let's give it the old college try.

I think there is a lot of value for shared knowledge.

For $45 it's hard to go wrong. The one issue that everyone should know is that while I think we can share this via the web (read only) and people sill be able to access --- in order to edit it we think that individual members will need their own paid Evernote account at $45 which they'd have to purchase. http://evernote.com/premium/

Does not look as if those who have been shared a note can delete it - though they can edit it

Working on setting this up, I copied in my existing MAS KB notebook but something appears to have broken the sync. I'm trying to find out what it is by posting on the Evernote community.

I have this all setup. Probably easiest to have one person edit and the rest of us can email in data to add to the KB: 90minds.706d8aa@m.evernote.com
