The name certainly goes away; too bad. This pretty much came out of the blue. The company had just finished a new logo design a couple months ago, which wouldn't have happened if this had been in the works in the Spring. I don't know yet if this says more about Saleslogix or about the two guys running Swiftpage -- they kept ACT!, meaning they prefer the smaller customers. I think this is a good development for Sage CRM.

Like a big game of telephone - here's how Info describes the purchase: NEW YORK - Aug 14, 2014 Infor, a leading provider of business application software and cloud services serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of Saleslogix, a leading provider of SaaS customer relationship management (CRM) software. Also claims 1,700 Saleslogix orgnanizations (customers) and 300 mutual (both Saleslogix and Info). I don't know how Infor would know the mutual part? I guess they cross reference the company names with their installed base. Seeing the extreme difficulty Sage has had creating CRM integrations - put me down as skeptical that Infor is going to get this integrated to more than one of their products. http://www.infor.com/company/news/pressroom/pressreleases/SLX/

I talked to a SLX field employee this afternoon; it was a surprise to them, too. It appears that Infor offered a price that was too good to pass up. They must be feeling heat about not having something. Infor's products seem to skew larger than most of Sage's. The integration between SLX and X3 using sData is now in the field, and apparently pretty good. I don't think it's impossible to do get a decent integration, just that the Sage MAS folks never put an appropriate focus on it. Infor also seems to be more of a direct channel. With the name change, it seems to communicate that the new owners might not care that much about stand-alone CRM customers. It's early, but I'm not seeing a lot of obvious markers that bode well for current SLX partners. Too bad.
