  • 1.  Reset Time Off Hours Based on Anniversary Date

    Posted 10-04-2019 20:22

What makes this happen?  PR Check Register update?   QEP?  YEP?  Calendar Date happens during YEP.   Anniversary Date should reset as it occurs.

Here's the help file that describes what happens but not how, or when for Anniversary Date, unless it is also during YEP.

Select an option to determine when employee's accrued time off is reset.

    • Select Calendar Year to reset time off at the end of the calendar year.

    • Select Anniversary Date to reset time off on the anniversary of the time off eligibility date in Employee Maintenance.

When employee's time off is reset, their unused time off (up to the Caryover limit set in Employee Maintenance) will be carried over into the next year, and their used time off amount will be reset to 0.

PS.  Caryover is Sage's typo, not mine.

    Below is the answer:

The reset happens during the check register update if the anniversary date is in the pay period start and end date range. Nothing happens at year end processing with this option selected.

With the layoffs due to Covid we have a client that had employees that didn't get paid during the time period that included their anniversary date but are back to work now.  Nothing got reset and now they are hitting the annual limit.  Has anyone else run across this?

We were able to duplicate this on Sage demo data and it has been submitted to engineering for a fix.  If an employee doesn't receive a paycheck during the period that includes their anniversary date the time off amounts will not reset.

Last year, we opened a case with Sage because one of our clients noticed that Time Off does not properly calculate for employees when their anniversary date falls during a pay cycle.  It doesn't pro-rate the accrual and the employee loses partial credit for that pay period.  This is Sage Defect # 116033 (created ~7/20/2023). This issue, along with the one Bernie reported earlier in this thread are still open defects.  Currently, Sage does not plan to fix these issues because they must not have received many calls about the issue.

How many of you have clients with this issue, and how do they handle it?  Do they manually correct hours in Employee Maintenance?  Other solution?

Just posted on the Sage Ideas site.  https://www5.v1ideas.com/TheSageGroupplc/Sage100ERP/Idea/Detail/42518
