Is there really a difference between 'reply inline' vs. 'reply to discussion'?  I tested it on this thread but I don't see a difference.  Also, is there a way to delete one of your own postings?  I see the 'edit' option but no 'delete' option.

If you pull down the Reply Inline button, is there an Edit option?

Yes, I do see the 'edit' option, but i don't see any other options for deleting on the page that comes up.  And when I do 'reply to discussion', I don't get that popup you attached; it just opens a separate page for me to type my reply...unless it's because I have my notifications set to 'real time'.  I also see the following in my settings:

To receive specific community notifications at an address other than your primary, set override(s) where desired.
Discussion Email: You have no override email addresses for discussion emails.   add override addresses

This is what I get when I click 'Reply to Discussion'. It's the notification options.

I think after you set your preference there, you'll get the full editor, as opposed to a simple line to type in a comment and send.  That's what I read in the Getting Started doc, I think.
And yes, I count all my Ikea parts and compare them to the instructions before I start building.  Same with Legos.

Ok, now I see the difference between Inline and Discussion, which is what I originally thought but for some reason I didn't realize it initially.  Basically it appears an inline reply is good if you want to specifically respond to a reply in a given thread (of which it puts your post right below and slightly indented), whereas 'reply to discussion' just puts your reply at the end/bottom.

So there is no way to delete your post?  Just edit it to nothing?  Is there somewhere to display the actual date/time stamp of the post?  The one above indicates it was posted 22 days ago, but so do prior posts.  An inline post could have been made yesterday but it will display underneath the post you replied to.  Can be confusing those folks who are linear thinkers.

Admins can delete posts. Users cannot but as you pointed out, they can edit them.
