RenovoFYI claims that they can convert FRX data (pricing starts at $800) with about a 90% accuracy rate. Their licensing for a single user version starts at $2,000 (one user / one data company) with a two user / ten data company version starting at $ 5,500. Ongoing software maintenance is 20% for silver support and is added to the above costs and invoiced annually thereafter by RenovoFYI. The company will take your FRX data (rows, columns, trees) and convert them and return the data to you. They also can install and train on RenovoFYI remotely for an added cost (figure another $2,500). The program runs in a web browser and requires a SQL database (SQL Express supported). I know many of you already know this and probably have RenovoFYI customers already. These are just my notes from talking to Renovo yesterday. Increasingly I see this solution as a strong contender for what I term our ""75%"" FRX users. These are the users who haven't changed their layouts in the 5 years since we set them up. Have no real need to expand the functionality and would complain loudly if we moved them to something that did not mirror the FRX they know. The other 25% are FRX users who are power users and should review the big 4: Sage Intelligence BizNet RenoviFYI F9

I actually see this more as a solution to the 25% power users - much less fuss getting switched, little learning curve, no half-assed conversions (SMI, I'm looking at you). I have one user in mind that I think will eventually go with RenovoFYI because they've got hundreds of FRx reports, BUT the fact that FRx is still working with the current GL certainly is hurting sales of these other alternatives. It's really hard to argue with a $800 fixed conversion

Here's what I'm telling customers: Casual Users (aka 75% of the FRX population): - Setup FRX 5+/- years ago - Never change the layout except minor cosmetics - Very happy with FRX as-is (no need for additional features) - Unwilling/unable to use Sage standard financials (for whatever reason) - No future plans/needs to greatly expand use of FRX In these cases it looks as if RenovoFYI ( http://goo.gl/6e1SF ) is a strong contender. They've indicated that for about $800 they'll convert all the data. Pricing for licenses looks to be on the same level as the competition. I'd figure about $2,500 in licensing for single user / $ 5,500 for two user. If training and installation is requested figure about $2,500 additional. The all-in migration price should start at $ 5,800 for typical users. Power Users (aka 25% of the FRX population): - Consultant setup FRX for them and they largely learned on their own - Regularly create and modify their reports - Consolidations and/or more complicated reporting - Distribute the reports using viewers or other mechanisms - Want/need to get more power from FRX In these cases selection will likely be from ""The big 4"" Sage 100 ERP financial reporting options: - Sage Intelligence - BizNet - RenovoFYI - F9

In my opinion we should be ""first out of the blocks"" to carry a proactive message about the options. And, yeah, I'm probably not first because this has been an issue for some time.....

I think most will drop FRx once exposed to usable dashboards from BI tools. Now that competitors also offer multi-currency support, I don't believe any of my clients will be opposed to change. I also see F9 stuck in second gear, and largely irrelevant (as compared to SI and BizNet).

We are completing a client project to convert FRx reports to SI and to provide new reports that were only in Excel previously. The original reports in FRx we also wrote, and there were significant fees to do those. We are also charging more than $800 for the conversion and new reports, and the client has no issue with that. I agree with @MarkKotyla that with the added functionality of BI, our clients have more powerful tools available to enhance their financial reports.

I don't disagree that many customers will welcome the expansion of being able to use BI dashboards. Many more however just want to keep using FRX or something that looks exactly like FRX or every time you go into their office they nag you about how you ""forced them to change"" .

My answer to those clients is that maybe I'm not the right consultant for them. My obligation is to expose them to new technologies and solutions SO THAT THEY CAN CHANGE the way they do things. They don't have to take my advise, but they will get it.

It's hard enough to get people to change the things that are broken...

@WayneSchulz Does Renovo still state Internet Explorer as the only browser supported?

Probably - @JimWoodhead ?And they were very unclear to me on this whole cloud vs on premises. The sales guy says on premises. The videos say cloud.
