Remote Desktop Security? Since I left California in 2003 I could count on one hand how many times I have physically walked into a customer's place of business. Security is ESPECIALLY important to my business and I am sometimes surprised at how easily a client allows me into their system from say Indonesia. I usually blurt out that I am certified by Sage and by Microsoft, but few know what that means. I have recently started using a product by Devolutions (http://devolutions.net) called Remote Desktop Manager. Unlike the Microsoft equivalent it handles many types of remote control protocols besides RDP connections - and it handles many types of VPN connection as well. Both VPN and remote protocol initiate with a single click and master password. It is well secured (if configured) so if my ESET firewall and antivirus are compromised and my computer is hijacked - I still have protection. Besides RDP it supports Citrix ICA, LogMeIn, VNC, PC Anywhere and more. VPN's supported include Microsoft, SonicWall, Cisco AnyConnect and many more. They provide both single user features and corporate features that provide group access (and individual removal). It also supports the LastPass credential vault (and others) for storing everything in one place. They also sell their own password vault software as well. The product's only negative is that there are a gazillion features, but I've managed to find the necessary ones without a battle. Their list of users includes many fortune 1000 plus the U.S. Department of Defense. I just wanted everyone to know that although I am working from Asia, I working securely and I couldn't recommend a product more (although I have not used the group features since I am a sole proprietor.)
