  • 1.  Remote Access to Sage 100 through Sage Partner Cloud

    One of the interesting tidbits about shifting Sage 100 to Azure through SPC seems to be an ability to set up remote access via a URL in a browser as an alternative to a traditional RDP connection. This seems to resonate with companies looking for "anywhere" access. It doesn't seem like this would make Sage operate differently as far as use on a mobile device (can't go there) but does it actually work?  Trying to find details on this is difficult at best. Has anyone jumped on board to move any clients to the SPC?  Can they connect via a browser?

    I have several connections to clients that have me run the Sage icon from a browser (Citrix)

    What's the benefit of being able to connect using a browser as compared to using remote desktop?  I know a browser is OS agnostic but there is RDP for the Mac also.  Typically when you use a browser the printing needs to be done to a PDF whereas with RDP you can use a printer.

    Printing is a bit awkward when running through the browser window, with an extra step, but it does work.

    I'm not a techie but isn't this published apps? I also have several that use Sage 100 this way already. I don't think it's specific to partner cloud.

    We have a couple customers on SPC so far.  @Robert White has been leading the charge and knows much more than I do. 

    For just Sage access any supported browser will do, but the desktop mode option is just for IE (which triggers a remote app type connection). 

    You can have the full desktop running in a browser window, but that is just intended for admin.
