Reminder: Save your clients from disaster. You may have seen Big Louie had a client who lost at least 3 months of data due to a virus and a broken untested backup system. Just got a call from a cheap crappy client yesterday that only calls us with problems. They are running an ancient version of Navision on Windows Server 2000 (says it all). It was on a 'white box' server with a software RAID driver. Their cheap IT company couldn't get the backup software to work on Windows 2000 so they just said screw it. Their last good backup was from 2010 and their server died. Because of the software RAID, they can't just put the drives in another machine. Let's just say they are borderline screwed unless they can find a way to recreate their old hardware and software RAID. http://www.eversafe-backup.com

Nothing will save a cheap client from their cheapness. Best to walk away.

Agree, but this is a reminder, that even non-cheap clients screw up because almost all backup solutions (including the software, hardware and people element) are rarely tested fully and frequently.
