Reminder: As Sage 100c begins shipping alongside Sage 100 2016: a. Sage 100c does NOT include full Crystal License (designer) - customer will pay at least $22/mo/user (does not appear that this needs to match Sage 100 licenses). Look at the attached Sage 100c price list under ala carte for more info. b. Intelligence and CRM license(s) are still included, but the quantity is based upon the level of Sage support. This is not clear based on some of the Sage100c charts. c. The Platinum level of support for PERPETUAL is $2,000 + whatever the Gold is d. Unless told otherwise, presume the subscription is going to have expiring keys so that there won't be a way for an off-plan customer to pay one fee and cancel maintenance. We'll learn more once we see the product in action. e. Sage 100c appears geared to new sales (including winback) , Sage's literature suggests that 100c should be your main option quoting new deals. They hint that exceptions will be made. f. Don't forget that on new Sage 100c there is an activation fee per user. This fee does NOT recur, but it's still going to be sizable for some deals. I think it starts at $500/user if they buy with the Silver maintenance. g. The Sage documentation is very slim on explaining any meaningful difference(s) between Sage 100 and Sage 100c. My guess is that Sage internally plans to phase out Sage 100 (perpetual) but would only do so after Sage 100c is out for some period of time and they can judge feedback. h. Sage indicates 17,000 Sage 100 users. I believe this is likely those on plan.

I'm out of the lop. What is 100c? Subscription?

If you want to new look and feel UI, you have to switch to subscription based 100c. As I recall, your M & S increases by 15% and as Wayne points out above, exponentially on the confusion increase.

So this is Sage's way of living new and install base customers to subscription to save all that maintenance sales effort. Copying Microsoft and Adobe. What does the 'c' stand for? 'cash for Sage?'

c = cash flow Personally, I think this is an attempt by Sage to ultimately migrate the bulk of their installed base to subscription while also having a more modern looking UI. I do not think Sage will run two versions forever and rather will gather data on the migration success and probably run a bazillion (complicated) promotions to entice existing users to migrate. Worth noting that in one Sage 100 FAQ there is a claim of 17,000 existing Sage 100 users.

or C as in confusion as no one at Sage knows what the heck it is all about.

Well that's kind of blatant. No more improvements for perpetual users. Your bugs will go unfixed. You can attend the loser summit in Greenland. And wasn't it supposed to be ready for download by now?

Sat through the lovely 2016 100c webinar, what I can't remember - is 100c being offered as an on-premise install only or was it on-premise and/or cloud?

Are you referring to the SAGE cloud?

No, for some reason, I'm thinking that 100c is only installed on-premise and is subscription based. Correct?

Sage 100c = only via subscription, primarily for new customers though existing can migrate for ""about 15% more"" than current maintenance. Still on premises.
