Regarding the IRD installation, is there anyway to determine (easily) whether it has been installed or not? Certainly would be nice if the version was changed under the help drop down. Are there any install logs that specifically show this information?

Looks like if you look hard enough at the activity log, you will see a line that indicates ""Installed 2012 End of Year Changes

Yes, the activity log has this and it looks something like year end IRD for year xxxx installed. If the logs too long, access from a ptq.

There otta be a law that the version number reflect the installation of the IRD's or make it part of the installed module listing....

I believe that if you install the IRD, you'll see records in the Activity Log. If, however, you install it as part of a 4.5 or 2013 PU, you won't see anything specific to the IRD in the Activity Log. I don't know of any other way to know.

Just had this issue yesterday. Couldn't for the life of me find anything! I think I finally looked in the PR directory for file dates.

And then I think I did that - just to be sure!!!

    If in doubt, install again?

That's what I meant to say @JeffSchwenk , installed xxxx end of year changes, just couldn't remember the exact phrase. Agreed, the installed module listing should have this, didn't it use too, long ago or am I recalling the TTU listing?

To further complicate things the Sage guidelines imply that unlike every other Sage patch - the IRD is not cumulative. This makes diagnosing an issue with someone who has not been active with you (new customer and/or someone who self-supported) more problematic because there's no way of knowing if past IRD's had been installed (actually there is but you have to go through a lengthy hunt and compare screens for fields, etc).

In the Sage Portal on the ""How to Install the 2012 Year End IRD (Interim Release Download)"" page (https://partners.sagenorthamerica.com/irj/go/km/docs/sageKM/Sage%20MAS%2090%20and%20200/Gated%20Customers/Browsable/HOWTOINSTALL2012YEARENDIRD.HTML), halfway down is ""How to verify IRD is installed"", which states to look in the Activity Log (which has been mentioned above). However I'm guessing that the person/team involved in documenting this IRD info isn't aware that it typically takes days for the Activity Log to eventually appear on screen. I usually end up pulling it into Crystal or Excel, similar to what @MoiraGoggin mentioned. How to verify IRD is installed 2012 IRD: Expand Library Master and Reports. Click Activity Log. Click Preview. Look for the description of Installed 2012 End of Year Changes. 2011 IRD: Expand Library Master and Reports. Click Activity Log. Click Preview. Look for the description of Installed 2011 End of Year Changes. 2010 IRD: Expand Library Master and Reports. Click Activity Log. Click Preview. Look for the description of Installed 2010 End of Year Changes.

Another good way is to stay current. I think this IRD problem impacts customers who go not upgrade regularly. If you go from 4.3 to 2013 then you would not have to also install IRD cumulative. A good reason payroll users should upgrade regularly.
