Recurring Demo Mode

    I have a customer whose payroll system annually goes to Demo. They’re on 2017 Advanced.

    Is this a Sage keys problem for this specific customer?

    Has anyone else experienced this type recurring Demo issue? I typically don’t see this problem recurring annually like this.

    I think this is one of those bugs that keeps on giving.  They released a patch for v2017 (attached) and fixed it in the PU 2018.8.  All was well with my office system for a couple quarters.  I am now on Sage 2019 and PR2019.4 and now 2020.  Demo mode came back last October in PR2019.4  No KB remedy so I copied the SY_FormseFilingVersion.M4T table from my Sage v2018 install to get past the hitch for filing 941.  Earlier this week when I check for the 2019 W-2 forms, the problem still existed in Sage 100 2019 / PR 2019.4.  Last night I install PR 2020.  Still in demo mode.  This AM I fire up my 2018 install, update the forms and then copy the SY_FormseFilingVersion.M4T to my 2019 install.

    Now working.  No difference in hardware, just Sage installs.  Go figure.

    I had one on 2019 with payroll 2.19. The same customer keeps hitting demo mode annually

    I had a case today where I could not install the PU that fixes the demo mode error - well, I guess it fixes it for whatever our issue was.  We ruled out .NET 3.5 as the issue.  Anyway, Sage sent me a new SY_FormsEfilingVersion.m4t and the problem went away.

    Just an FYI that this issue is back in v2020........  Running 1st quarter 941 and this message reared its ugliness again......   Copied the SY_FormsEfilingVersion.m4t from my v2019 install and the problem went away...... for now,

    I was under the impression that 90 Minds had a close relationship with the Sage development group. Are they not the group that can fix this kind of issue? If they are not, then who? Has anyone contacted Linda Cade about this?​

    To really get their attention, I should probably post on Sage City.  The Dev EMT's seem to respond faster when dialing 911 in that 'Hood.

    Yes... I emailed Elliott about something a couple weeks ago, that he thought they fixed (but still happened to me on a new upgrade).  He was unaware it was still happening, and after the email has put in a fix for the next PU's.  (Running Update for UDF's to be available in Selection grids after an upgrade).

    Dev. doesn't know what happens in the real world until we tell them, and they do read Sage City.

    (I also hinted how useful it would be to have the ability to provide feedback directly from within a KB article... like "this just happened to me in v2020"... but I doubt the suggestion will go anywhere).

    Hey MOD squad!  

    Can we get this recurring demo mode fixed once and for all?????  I go to update my qtrly Aatrix forms (v2020, PR 2.20.1) and AGAIN I get hit with the demo mode!!!!!  So I fire up my still reliable 2018 install, update the forms and then copy the SY_FormseFilingVersion.M4T to my 2020 install.  Federal and state forms are now in active mode.

    IS there an end in site?????

    I haven't taken reports yet but I usually only hear about this in January when people are printing forms. I noticed Sage issued a patch for a similar issue but it was specifically labelled for 2019.x and was for the Strategic Hosting Provider version. Not sure what the difference is. My guess is the bug is still kicking around and aries by version.
