Am I overlooking something or did Sage issue PU 2019.3 which corrected this issue but did not issue one for 2018 despite 2018 still being supported? It actually seems like there were a bunch of JC fixes that didn't get issued for 2018.9.

Or am I overlooking some reason for this ( or did I miss a PU for 2018 ? )

    Here's the KB

Here is the fix listing for 2018.9 and 2019.3.
It appears that there are substantially more fixes in 2019.3 despite 2018 still appearing on the supported versions listing.

Am I mistaken on this or is it not that big a deal that Job Cost users are down to only being able to use the current release or 1 prior version?

Absent any feedback -  it appears that Sage has silently modified their supported versions policy for issuance of product updates downward to N-1. And the first product update for their current release is slated for 6 months after release.

This means more than ever customers will need to be on a current release ASAP or risk not having access to fixes. As an example, I was not able to find a hotfix ( public in the KB ) for the J/C issue above. It appears to have only been released as part of a P/U bundle and only for version 2019 ( unknown if the fix was already incorporated to 2020 ).

Based on past experience, it is probably broken in v2020.  I believe there are a couple of PR fixes that didn't make v2020

It would be a nice 90M membership benefit if we had a high level tech support liaison at Sage that we could phone/email for issues like this.  The alternative is to call them out on Sage City.

I will admit to not understanding what "supported version" means to Sage. Previously I took it to mean that a Product Update with all fixes was issued quarterly for Sage 100 releases that were considered supported.

But that doesn't seem to be Sage's definition ( See Sage City response here ).

BTW, according to Sage if you run into this issue on a 2018 release you can safely copy ...\MAS90\SOA\swvdte from a 2019 PU3 installation to the 2018 system to resolve the error.

I believe this is a BPAC or PAC matter to be placed on their agenda. @Sue Bennett or @Jim Woodhead - with the specific question being why supported versions of Sage 100 are not all receiving full product updates and what is Sage's stance on this so that we can inform our mutual customers, plan for upgrades, etc.
