    Recent announcement of discontinuation of Sage CRM 100. Please note that this is related to the particular product called Sage CRM 100 and has nothing to do with MAS (Sage 100) integration. The Sage CRM 100 product was a crippled version that Sage sold to budget minded customers. There are only a few dozen customers on this product and they are pulling the plug.

    Yes, because naming all your products the same or similar, or even identical in different countries isn't confusing ... :)

    Thanks @PeterWolf !!! It makes no sense that when they email us about Sage CRM they never say 100 or 200 but what version it is v7.2b .. I can hear the calls now from the customers thinking they have a different version.

    The one bit of good news is that this will only go out to the few dozen customers on Sage CRM 100. (In theory)

    In theory only! Why did I get it and Diana? We have never heard of Sage CRM 100 or 200. Who knows how many customers got this confusing email...

    Supposedly no customers got it yet. This was a pre-customer announcement sent to any and all partners that are CRM certified. The customers using Sage CRM 100 edition will be emailed on Monday (11/11).

    So to be clear - this is not the ""Free"" license that customers receive with their Sage 100 ERP?

    This has nothing to do with the free license. It has nothing to do with Sage 100 at all. I don't think that the Sage CRM 100 edition couldn't integrate with any of the accounting solutions and was only for stand-alone customers.

    The rumor has it that the free license will be pulled some time next year though. So any of your customers that like freebies might want to start investigating Sage CRM soon ...

    @PeterWolf - I can understand no longer offering the free CRM license with new sales, as it has not worked as expected at all, but to take something back from existing customers is guaranteed to cause resentment, especially since the only benefit many users have gotten for the last couple of years maintenance is a ""free"" user license.

    @PhilMcIntosh - Sage is aware of that and, to the best of my understanding, there would be no pull back of the ""free"" license from existing users.

    Color me still confused. Sage CRM 100, Sage CRM 200. What's the version that customers received with their ""Free"" license? I know you've indicated it was not Sage CRM 100. Was it Sage CRM 200 -- or some other version? ] Thanks for the clarification - I presumed this was about the freebie license, etc.

    @PeterWolf why all of a sudden are we seeing another name for Sage CRM v7.2 as Sage 200 ? Based on what you told me they are the same product right - free or bought ??? Does Sage 300 call Sage CRM 200?

    @WayneSchulz Sage CRM 200 is the only product that your customers would have. @DianeRuth - 7.2 is the version. ""200"" is the edition. It's the same as (in the old days) MAS 90 was the edition and 4.5 was the version. The confusing thing is that no one calls it ""Sage CRM 200"", they just call it ""Sage CRM."" Now Sage is getting rid of Sage CRM 100 edition and there will only be ""Sage CRM"" (formerly Sage CRM 200 from an official name standpoint).

    It's super confusing. The really stupid part is ... why blast all the partners with this message? There are only a handful of customers using Sage CRM 100 edition. They should have contacted only those partners and saved some grief for all.

    Fortunately (or unfortunately) we learned of the difference from Peter a while back when a stand-alone CRM user wanted some customizations. Turns out they had the 100 version which did not allow what they wanted. Glad we had that conversation back then Peter!

    Here's an attempt to clean up the language to make it a bit clearer: Please note that this is related to a particular edition of Sage CRM - Sage CRM 100 edition - and has nothing to do with Sage 100 ERP (MAS) integration. The Sage CRM 100 edition was a scaled-down version sold to budget-minded customers. There are only a limited number of customers on this product. The confusing thing is that no one calls the normally purchased product by it's official name of ""Sage CRM 200?, they just call it ""Sage CRM."" To clear up this confusion, Sage is eliminating the Sage CRM 100 edition and there will only be ""Sage CRM"" (formerly Sage CRM 200 from an official name standpoint) going forward.

    Based on what he wrote he thinks only the customers with the standalone got the email blast. They have no clue on what they are doing at Sage... Hey @BethBowers I didn't know you were a red head !
