Received this from Len Vassos - Software Development Manager at PVX Plus Technologies. Len was Director of Development at Sage for MAS90 - back in the day when things were still being developed in house for MAS90: Hi Wayne, Hope all is well. I enjoy reading your updates and newsletter. Even though I have moved on from Sage, I'm still passionate and follow how the Sage 100 product and community is doing. We are in the process of enhancing our ODBC driver for 32 /64 bit. We have a number of Sage 100 customers who are using our driver. Since yourself and 90 Minds are closer to the Sage 100 base we are wondering if there any improvements/enhancements that you would like to see added to the driver. Your insight on this or any other issues you may be having would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Len Vassos Thoughts?

ODBC? Make it faster...a LOT faster. I'm curious, is PVX Plus also responsible for the MAS 200 Host service? It would be nice if they could enhance that so we could avoid all of the Timeout errors and No Delay Stream errors that seem to absolutely dog us with some of our larger customers.

Are they also the source for the read/write ODBC driver? If so, I'd love this option to use on occasion.

Completely agree with making it faster! We would also like to see the ability to have more than one left outer join and the ability to have multiple database connections. Thanks @WayneSchulz for asking the group!

Followup from Len: Hi Wayne, Thank you so much for getting back to me. Just to clarify, PVX Plus does not support or enhance the current Sage ODBC driver, nor the language or its utilities. We provide additional functionality with our ODBC driver and provide support to the many Sage 100 customers that currently use it. There are a number of things we can do that should speed up the driver. We are also addressing some the join issues and adding additional functionality to the driver. Our driver has read/write capability. As for the MAS 200 Host service, there is nothing we can do, although under PxPlus we have made a number of changes to resolve the timeout errors. We continue to enhance PxPlus by providing new functionality such as web services, myTiles, iNomads, etc. Many of these features are in our quarterly newsletters http://theplus.pvxplus.com/ If interested we can demonstrate some of the features available in PxPlus. You can email me at len.vassos@pvxplus.com Thanks again,

Well, call me a bit confused. How does one use their driver if they don't support or enhance the Sage one? Do users install the Plus in its place?

It's an add on ODBC from what I remember about 5 years ago. I looked into it before the 64-bit Sage version ODBC came out. They were very helpful on the phone and via email when I was testing it @JeffSchwenk so I think that they support a Sage 100 user that wants to use their PVXPlus ODBC version, just not support for the out-of-the-box ODBC from Sage.
