re: Sponsors for regular group activity
I received a call a few minutes ago from Thomas Bittner. He used to be with Smartlinc and is now working at Accumatica as the Director Partner recruitment.
I show that we have a 12pm ET 90 Minds Admin meeting this Wed 3/12/14. I think we should all be prepared to discuss who and at what cost we'd be willing to accept sponsors for regular group activities.
Thomas started down the Russ Graff route of ""I'll send you some info and maybe you could blog post"" .... at which point I mentioned that we were working on sponsor opportunities.
The issues that we should discuss - in order of what I feel is their importance:
1. Should we accept non-Sage sponsors --- ie Netsuite, Accumatica, Infor, Intacct, Intuit, Xero, etc?
There are pros and cons to this. Most of our members join to talk about Sage 100. Introducing a lot of non-Sage 100 material can start to dilute the value of their Sage 100 focused membership.
However there's little doubt Sage 100 is now in the sunset/harvest category. We probably are doing our members a favor / adding value by exposing them to non-Sage opportunities.
2. What fee schedule - we've already seen some recommendations from our meeting in San Diego. We need to add enough value to these sponsorship opportunities that we are able to attract and keep sponsors outside the conference time period. Need to review these options.
3. When to start
4. Recruiting additional members - I think we should host quarterly webinars on 90 Minds so that potential members can learn about the group. It would be nice to have 200 or maybe even 250 total membership at some point.
