I just did one this year.  I exported the financials and imported ending balances after revamping the GL accounts.  Fortunately the client only wanted December of 2022 and then 2023.  Employees kept making changes to previous months, so make sure they are closing out periods in QB.  I exported vendors and customers and imported into Sage after revamping vendor and customer numbers.  The export from QB has the full address in 1 field.  I used Excel and did what I could to separate data.  I exported vendor and customer balances and imported into Sage after data was cleaned up. My customers data in QB was not usable for open PO's and inventory so that data was manually entered.  I exported all data from Reports.  I'm happy to send you any needed import jobs or answer questions if I can.

Thanks @Michele Herzog I appreciate any VI jobs or other information you can provide.  I need to finish scoping out the project so I can see exactly what is needed and provide a proposal this week.

At one point I thought that Greytrix might have had a tool that did conversion ( or they took the data and did it themselves for you). I've never used Greytrix for a QB conversion so I can't vouch for the results or cost.

Any suggestions re: BOM's?  Apparently, QB doesn't have an export that includes all BOM's, just one by one, and we're dealing with well over a 1,000.

I've used QODBC before to extract data from Quickbooks to SQL, Access, etc..  I think it does handle Build Assemblies (BOMs???), but I didn't need it for that.  It was a great, cheap, tool,  but also many years ago.

Thanks, @Chris St. Amand.  I also found out that Greytrix's Sage 100 Migration Services doesn't offer BOM's, and here's some info from last year re: their services:

FYI, we do provide data migration services at our Sage Migration Centre where we undertake 1 test and 1 live conversion. After the test conversion, we provide the data to the client for testing/ reviewing at their end. Once we receive approval on converted test data then we schedule Live migration.

INFORMATION WE DO CONVERT FROM QUICKBOOKS TO SAGE 100 ERP

    • General Ledger: GL masters and 2 years of GL Transaction History. (Current Year + 1 Previous Year)
    • Bank: Bank masters and opening bank balances (We do not do bank reconciliations)
    • Tax: Tax masters
    • Accounts Payable: A/P vendors and open payables along with 2 years of purchase history. (Current Year + 1 Previous Year)
    • Accounts Receivable: A/R customers and open receivables along with 2 years of sales history. (Current Year + 1 Previous Year)
    • Sales Order: Open sales orders and orders with backordered quantities (Not the closed SO's)
    • Purchase Order: Open purchase orders and orders with backordered quantities (Not the closed PO's)
    • Inventory Control: IC masters and on hand quantities

INFORMATION WE DO NOT CONVERT FROM QUICKBOOKS TO SAGE 100 ERP

    • We do not convert data from other modules such as Payroll, Job Cost, BOM, etc.
    • We do not convert G/L Budgets.
    • We do not perform Bank Reconciliation.
    • We do not convert Closed Sales Orders.
    • We do not convert Closed Purchase Orders.
    • We do not fetch any custom fields, be it in the master's level or transaction level in our standard migration process.

    CONVERSION TIME-FRAME

Turnaround time for conversion depends on size of the data and number of history data and complexities involved in historical data. Usually, we estimate the complete conversion (i.e. along with history) takes around 5-6 days. But to be on safe side, we request 7-10 days for test conversion and once we get a perfect picture we can give an estimated time required for Live Conversion.

We would appreciate if you could please advise the following information to assist you better.

    • Sage Reseller name/ID:
    • QuickBooks company name:
    • QuickBooks version and edition:
    • Sage 100 ERP version and edition:
    • No. of QuickBooks databases to be converted:
    • Which modules to be converted:
    • No of history data to be converted:
    • Tentative Conversion schedule:

Once we receive the above requested information, then we would be in a better position to assist you on same.
