If you have a script in SO Entry (specifically to change the Email address on the order when you change the Contact (from Contact Code)), will it still work if entering orders via CRM?

A Sage 100 script wouldn't change what's in CRM (unless order edits are pushed up into CRM by the integration), but a BOI event script should work on changing the Sage 100 value (...depending on the script trigger).

It's a BOI script - when you are first entering the order, if you change the Contact field to one of the saved Contacts, it changes the Email address on the order to the email saved with that Contact.

The main question is whether the CRM integration / import triggers the column event.  Some Sage programming avoids column events, but I expect the SO import from CRM won't be doing that... although it is technically possible.

This is Sage CRM - it's not really importing, it's data entry from within Sage CRM

I really don't know the technical details of what you are referring to.  If you are opening something in CRM that looks like SO Data Entry, it could be the actual Sage 100 program that you are using.  If you are entering a CRM Opportunity, that would be an import to Sage 100 as an SO.

It'll first depend on how Sage CRM is integrated with Sage 100. Then it'll depend on how your scripting event is bound.

if it's native Sage CRM where the SO module window opens for SO entry, scripts generally have always worked. I know the ones when you save the SO fire correctly. My first attempt at expanding the integration between the two started with scripts within Sage 100 and got the SO save to send additional data (UDFs) into Sage CRM.

If it's GUMU… I honestly don't know. Would have to ask Dan and his team to respond or someone else more familiar with that integration.
