Question Of The Week: 1. What are you using for remote unattended support? 2. Is it installed on your server(s) or hosted (as a service) 3. How much do you pay per seat / per year (or per month). TIA

    1. Citrix GotoAssist 2. As a service 3. $69mo or $660/year (up to 100 unattended remote computers) I'm trying to determine if there is a better solution. Not really interested in anything I need to install/maintain on my own server. Must offer reliable unattended support.

    1. Logmein Rescue 2. As a service 3. I think it is $900 a year I really like this service, the unattended sessions are almost as reliable as our client's computers. One small issue with LogMeIn is that it doesn't support connections to a Windows XP machine. The other thing I like about it, is you can either install the client on your workstation or access it through your browser.

We use Citrix GoToAssist also. We install it as an ""unattended"" service on clients. I love the ease of use. Our client can key in their ADMIN password (if they don't want to share) and it is stored in our login. Not sure how many licenses we have or how much we pay. I use both the installed client, and the web client. easy-peasy

We use WebEx for Support, Meetings, and Webinars. 9 licenses of Meeting, 7 licenses of Support, and 1 Webinar License. $550 per month. We don't use unattended support for security purposes. If unattended access is needed, we ask the client to provide access via RDP, VPN, or whatever other solution that want to deploy. This way we don't assume the risk for the remote access and they have complete control over when to turn it on and when to turn it off.

@JimWoodhead - Your negotiation skills are the best. Let me know how you do. I may hire you to knock GTA around a bit for me. I don't seem to have the clout that you have.

Switched to ScreenConnect from GotoAssist about 2 years ago. Everyone on my team seems happier with it. Can't remember exact pricing, but seems like after an initial investment of about $2,500, it is only like $500 per year for 10 concurrent users if you want to keep it updated. Recently they were purchased by ConnectWise so that may mean some changes in the future. We use GotoMeeting and GotoWebinar for sales and training related activities.
