Question: If you upgrade from SAGE 100 STD v2014 to v2017, but client does not select the ""c"" version. Does the workstation install still allow you to select the ""STANDARD"" desktop or the ""CLASSIC""? What happens if you select the ""STANDARD"" desktop? Is it quickly obvious that you have selected the ""wrong"" desktop? Is there a way to tell the difference between the ""old-style"" unlocking keys, or the ""new-c"" unlocking keys?

I have a 2017 client that is not on 100c, but I installed the workstation with the Standard Interface (thinking they were 100c because it was a new implementation and I thought it HAD to be that way). All the functionality is there except for stuff on the ""View"" tab. So you can't change the theme, alphabetize, or edit the Web Content. I left it alone, they liked the ribbon interface and the ease of the favorites ""tab"" and bar.

Just did a Sage 100 2017 STD upgrade today that was NOT 100c. They were prompted classic v standard. I'm not sure what would have happened if I selected Standard but I thought starting in 2017 even non-100c had access to the new UI.

Yes, I remember that being on the list of 2017 stuff, which made one less reason to move to C....

I had a customer just upgrade form 4.4 to 2017 ( not c) and they get the new interface, and I think I know why: there are features in the new menu that are only available in 100c. A 100 in classic doesn't know they are there. A 100 in standard can click on those and get told they don't have access unless they subscribe.

So if you were to walk into a new client's office and they are running SAGE 100 STD v2017. How would you be able to quickly tell if they are a v2017 or a v2017c install?

Check for the 'phone home' url, I think it runs only on 100c to see if the key's subscription is paid up https://licensing.services.sage.com/lic/services/LicenceService

Thanks @MoiraGoggin ....Where do I look for this ""phone home URL""? Is it inside of SAGE 100 STD or am I looking for an installed app like SAGE Exchange or SAGE Update Advisor?

The URL was only needed to allow the authentication and registration through a very strict firewall at one of our medical clinics- if you look on Sage portal at the keys, they say 100c. I'm still looking for that url....
