pvxcom question. If I have this correct, several versions ago Sage essentially bumped the concurrent user licenses owned by a single license to accommodate Sage CRM connections. We have a client who had purchased a 30 user Sage 100 ERP system, but has been able to have 31 concurrent connections because apparently Sage does not put a restriction on the desktop user accessing the extra license from pvxcom/Sage CRM. The client uses iSales 100 with 10 remote sales people and each time one of those reps synchronizes the app, pvxcom is used, thus consuming the ""31st license"". The client is complaining and our reply is we're following the standard protocol for accessing Sage 100 from external programs - similar to Sage CRM and other programs. I have been looking for some kind of statement from Sage about the intended purpose of the extra license, but have not found anything. If anyone has such a document I wonder if you can share it. Thanks!

That is how it's been explained, but I don't think I've seen any documentation stating that.

How did HTI do it with TK ? They used to sell non-Sage licenses cheaper.

That's a good question Wayne. I'll find out. I have some recollection that Sage used to charge some kind of cheaper access license required of certain developers who tapped into MAS 90.

Here's the word: HTI had written a Java utility that was able to read/write the PVX tables directly - no license required. The programmer who wrote it did not keep the libraries when he left Hightower and doesn't know if the utility is floating around SWK somewhere.

You should contact Joe Bisaha as his JO Scan products don't take any additional Licenses but he is driving his product via SQL...

Thanks, Jeff. We're actually not looking to change our integration method (web services) but rather just looking for an explanation from Sage about pvxcon as it relates to concurrent users. I'll provide whatever update i get from Sage.
