I started a Purge GL History for a client on Friday night around 9pm.  They had about 2,395,264 records in GL_DetailPosting.M4T pre-purge.  Tuesday morning and the table has 2,321,098 records and the purge is showing One moment please and not moving forward at all.  Anyone seen this?  I can't tell if it is hung or just REALLY slow.  I don't want to cancel it and cause data issues ... any advice?

Sad to say your going to have to let it run.  You might want to see if you are dealing with Span files meaning you would have GL_DetailPosting.M4T GL_DetailPosting.M4T.001, GL_DetailPosting.M4T.002 and so on in GLXXX directory for the company code your working with.  If you have growing span files like these then it will take long.    You can also run the Task Manager to see what tasks are running from the station where this purge is running from.   I had to do this recently and it took 2 days to get through massive Span files.  Big pain in the .....

When something seems frozen, I'll use Task Manager / Resource Monitor to make sure it's still actually doing something (CPU activity, Memory activity, Disk activity, network activity...).  If there's activity, wait.  If no activity, waiting might not help.

@Andrea Stull I know this is not helpful now, but your situation is why we always (unless someone forgets) run these types of utilities (purge, delete/change/renumber, price adjustments, standard cost adjustment, etc.) in a backup company before we do it in the live company.

If everyone has been out of Sage 100 while this utility is running, could you stop it and restore a backup to get them back in?
