  • 1.  Purchase Order Receipt of Goods - change warehouse code on line entry

    Happy Tuesday!

    I'm obviously asking a question that it seems should be relatively simple to find an answer for but I'm not really finding a good one...while doing a receipt of goods I can't change the warehouse code that is the receipt of goods warehouse.  I.E. I have a review warehouse and when I receive certain items in I want it to be received to that warehouse not the normal warehouse (yes I'm aware multi-bin would make this easier).  David Overholt and I did some quick testing and if I receive a purchase order and use DFDM and change the receiving warehouse on one of the lines and post it everything seems to work and stock goes where I want it to.  That said it just seems we aren't thinking of something important we need to consider, is it just as simple as opening up the warehouse field on the receipt of goods to be editable and things will work?    Check DSD mods and didn't see any, which actually seemed more like a red flag than not on this one....

    Someone out there smarter than David and I that could provide some insight?

    Update the line warehouse on the PO, before starting the receipt?

    Best to change the warehouse in PO Entry. This will update the quantity on PO in the item warehouse table. Otherwise, the quantity on PO will be off. Of course, this could be fixed with a rebuild, but that brings its own challenges.

    Thanks everyone, just seems like something that Sage could have written a little better in my opinion, haven't solved it yet in a good way but thanks for the ideas!
