  • 1.  [ProvideX][ ODBC Driver][ ISAM ISAM] communication error.

    Weird issues are blowing around today.  v2019 ADV PU2.  Client has been running for a couple of months now.  They have an Excel spreadsheet that queries Sage SO header table now causing big stink.

    Issue was limited to one workstation for a week or so, then cleared up by itself(?).  Spreadsheet query was running yesterday morning for shipping clerk.  Then it stopped in the PM.  Then it spread to others.  Spreadsheet is on the server for all to access.  Various flavors of Excel being used.  I have stopped the CS ODBC service, restarted.  I have created a blank spreadsheet and query and it blows the error.

    Waiting for session to uninstall the Sage client and reinstall to see what effect that has.

    What happens if you change him to not use the CS ODBC?  That may not be a solution.  But maybe it works, just slower.

    Deselected option for odbc, uninstalled all Sage clients on one workstation.  Rebooted.  Reinstalled v2019 client.  Was able to run one new query in new Excel spreadsheet.  Production spreadsheet query still blowing up.  Have asked for a restore or speadsheet from a couple weeks ago.  Will see what effect that has.

    I had some errors with excel as soon as you tell it to get the external data. It would crash in any program using the ODBC driver and found out it was our trend micro blocking it.

    @Todd Martin - That was the ticket.  Thank you very much.  I just hate solving HW issues for the IT people....

    Am wondering why there is not a KB on this issue.  I would think it would be a common problem for everyone.
