Project: upgrade from 2016 Std to 2018 Adv. In a nutshell, the client wants to start and end on their current production server. The procedure they are looking at is is: 1. Install 2018 on a VM on a separate physical server, migrate, test, and Go Live. 2. Wipe the original server, make it a VM server, and move the 2018 VM back to that box. Ideally, step 2 is transparent to the Sage 100 environment (i.e. no installation, workstation setup, etc) will be necessary. Does this procedure make sense and look workable?

Yes, that makes sense, though I'll usually copy 2016 to the 2018 VM and migrate from the copy. That way I never disrupt the original 2016 install (in case things go south). Once 2018 is 'live', then you can wipe the old server, load ESX/HyperV/etc and move that 2018 VM, just like you said.

Thanks for the confirmation @SteveIwanowski . I also migrate from a copy. I always like to leave the original install intact.
