    Just launched our first on on 1/2 - an upgrade from 2018.  Make sure we had all the patches downloaded and everything that was supposed to (no WO history) converted quite well including existing work orders, routings, work centers, operation codes.  We found out routings don't convert unless they have a step 000 so we did some VI work in the 2018 version prior to the final migration.  It's way too early yet to know everything but after two days they love the BIE views for work ticket information and the dynamic inventory.

    One big issue right now is serialized items.  Currently a work ticket completion for a serialized item requires EACH serial number to be entered SEPARATELY.  They often have completion entries of 200 - 300 units which creates a data entry nightmare.  I have a case open with Sage and they have contacted Scanco but nothing back from them yet.

    The client went in to this eyes wide open so they are happy with how the conversion went.  The learning curve for us has been a bit of a pain but that was expected as well.  We'll see how long it takes to get the serial number issue addressed.

    I'll post some further updates as we get a little more time under their belt.

    Thanks - the issue with serial numbers is potentially huge. I have a similar situation where a hundred or more serialized items are created. Entering numbers individually would present a problem.

    Just heard back from Scanco that the serial number issue will not be corrected with a hot fix, we have to wait for a product update.  Until then every serial number has to be entered individually during a completion entry.  If anyone has clients that process serial item completions in any quantity I suggest you hit the brakes on any conversion to Production Management until this is resolved.
