  • 1.  Production Management - Make to Order

    There was a post recently that most users of Work Order would find the Make to Order (MTO) version of Production Management a better fit that Make to Stock (MTS). MTO is slated to ship 2nd half of 2020. Does anyone have information of what MTO will have and why it would be a better fit?

    @Myron Stevenson  I heard they scraped the new Production Management "Make to Order" plans   and are going to stick with Original JobOps AKA  Sage Manufacturing.  Do you hear anything different?

    Sage Manufacturing was upgraded to v2019 to provide a solution for that version of Sage 100, so that is what is available currently. Originally there was not going to be a v2019. It is my understanding that Scanco is working diligently on the Production Management Make to Order, but it is going to take much longer to complete than planned. I have no details about the complexities, but do not expect anything until at least June 2020. I have not heard that Production Management Make to Order has been scrapped, but then again, there have not been many official announcements from Scanco.

    I have confirmed that there are no plans to scrap Production Management Make to Order, but it will take much longer to deliver the fully-functional, complete package than originally projected. This is fine with those of us who work with Sage Manufacturing, since it has a great track record, and provides the functionality we have always had from JobOps​. At this point I have no customers or prospects that are concerned about future releases, such as PM MTO, since they are happy with what Sage Manufacturing has to offer, and it is available with v2019. If we don't see a complete PM MTO until 2021, that works for us.
