Printing W2's with Aatrix - Unknown exception

  • 1.  Printing W2's with Aatrix - Unknown exception

    I have a client using (trying to) Aatrix to print W-2s and is getting this error when it is trying to access the employee data.  After going through the numerous questions it then is trying to access the employe data (I assume).

    An unknown exception has occured, the program will now close after logging additional information.  Verify system requirements at https://secureupdates.aatrix.com

     and try again.

    No idea where it is logging additional information.

    The secureupdates info seems to be just for trying to get it to update forms.  All forms are updated as suggested by the fact I can get into other forms (including 1099's) with no problem.

    This happens at multiple computers including the server.  I don't have any problem on my own system so I don't believe it to be a bug in Aatrix.

    I've uninstalled and reinstalled Aatrix.  The automatic update process works just fine.

    I've verified that the users have access to personally identifiable information.

    Can't find any references in the Sage or Aatrix knowledgebases.

    My process of elimination suggests to me that there is some issue in the Sage 100 payroll data itself but I have no idea where to start looking.

    Thoughts???

    It's a bug in Aatrix – Steve Pavel will be notified when it's fixed – it will be loaded with the automatic update. I will post something when he's been notified.

    We found this out today too – we have 5 clients who have this happening to them.  And the folks at Sage are telling us they have other issues this year too!

    I'm going to be candid that  it's concerning to me when  a critical payroll issue is found by at least two 90 Minds members and only shared with the group  when another member posts about facing a payroll year-end failure. This apparent lack of proactive sharing creates a significant problem for our entire group. Now if you all found this out at the exact same time accept my apologies but it doesn't seem like that's what happened here.

    @Wayne Schulz – We only have a Sage 100 group staff meeting once a week and yesterday was that day.  I found out about our clients with the problem in that meeting.  I did know about one occurrence last week, but I thought it might be a hardware issue.  Wasn't until yesterday that I found that we had several clients with the same issue...

    Update:
    Aatrix released a new version this morning and it resolves the error.   Once you install the latest update the error that was appearing no longer appears and the W-2 grids pops up correctly.
    Mark this as Issue resolved!!

    In theory, the update is installed automatically (think the automatic updates that your are prompted for).   Oddly enough I didn't notice an automatic update and things are working OK this morning?

    W-2's seem to be working OK this morning.   Odd things is I don't think it did an update to the software???  Maybe I'm having a brain fart, but I didn't see one come through.

    Haven't looked at 1099's as of this morning.

    Tom you can always run the Payroll Tax Update Report to see when updates were installed.
