  • 1.  Printing on printer server on RDP - Sage 100 stops working

    I can't give you all of the techie details, but client was upgraded last weekend to 2019.1 and is using a remote desktop connection for most clients.  Same clients are using a print server, which is new to their setup.  While printing, they are randomly getting Windows error that Remote Desktop has stopped working.

    I advised to look for the redirected Sage Converter printers, but it also sounds like it's not always when Paperless.  Any tips or tricks I can pass along?

    If the terminal server can talk directly with the print server, don't share printers with the RDC... set up the queue's directly on the terminal server.

    OK, I have a correction- they are using Remote APP, not Remote Desktop.  Change anyone's responses?

    Ok .. you're gonna think I'm crazy on the first 2 as those are off the wall suggestions :) .. but....
    1- Do any of the clients have HP SimplePass installed by any chance? (Here's a KB we have about this situation)
    2- Try disabling Audio Redirection in the Remote Desktop settings
    3- If one of the redirect printers happens to go offline on the print server, the RDP client tends to freak out. Can you make sure that all printers are in fact online, and if any are not, try removing them temporarily from the workstation, then reconnecting to the session (since native Remote App does not allow selective printing) --- Alternatively, they can consider something like TSPring from Terminal Works, or triCerat ScrewDrivers for more control of redirected printers.

    Hope one of those suggestions work!
