I have been having persistent issues with our modified Gross Profit Journal after upgrading to V2025 64 bit at one my clients.
The report, which pulls data from AR Invoice History/Detail into a subreport when printing the GP Journal, worked flawlessly in V2022 32 bit. However, we are now facing a "printer not active, error code 30" when printing from some workstations on certain batches. It's quite puzzling because this issue seems to be inconsistent – it works on some batches but not all, which leads me to believe the report itself is fine.
Interestingly, the report previews correctly but encounters the error when trying to print directly, which we need to do for it to be archived in Paperless Office. Since it previews, I do not think it is data related. I have tried running the report using the C/S ODBC driver for the user, but the same error persists, which further complicates the matter.
Moreover, this error appears on other machines for the same batch, yet all other paperless office forms and reports print without any issues for this user. I even created a new report directly in Crystal 2020, but to no avail. The error code 30 still appears.
I have meticulously gone through all the standard troubleshooting steps for printer error code 30, including uninstalling/reinstalling, adjusting pl_advancedoptions_ui, installing the 32 and 64-bit Crystal DLLs, applying registry hacks, turning off UAC, and restarting the print spooler. Despite all these efforts, the issue remains unresolved.
The only significant change I can identify is the shift to a 64-bit system and the new version of Crystal Reports. I
Any tips or suggestions, would be helpful
