  • 1.  Print BOM Kits in order entered

    Posted 04-02-2019 13:58

    Perhaps I'm overlooking something simple.

I have a customer on 2018.5 using BOM Kits pretty actively.

Some of the kits are set up in a specific order.

The issue is that when the kits explode onto a SO they seem to be brought over in alphabetical order versus order entered which is the way they'd prefer.

Is there an easy way to get this to print in the order entered vs alphabetical?

Not unless Sage as added some new feature in 2018.  I had to write a customization for a customer to put them in in the same order. if I remember correctly if you use Kits without Bill of Materials module integrated they actually will be brought onto the sales order in the same order as kit maintenance screen.

We've used a sub-report based on the BoM to print kit components in a specific order.

How do you work the quantities  ( SO, Picking )  into that subreport?

Pass quantities (ordered, back ordered...) down to the sub report as parameters (along with ItemCode), and use them as multipliers for component quantities.  I don't believe we've had to deal with UoM conversion, but that is another consideration if in use.
