Have you tried backing up and reinitializing SY_Personalize?
Is it every primary grid is just specific ones?
Extended solutions?
I recall an odd error message occurring for one client on the MB distribution screen in SO Entry, initially i could not duplicate but found it only occurred when the distribution screen was maximized.
What happens if you rename the links folder and either create a brand new customization of the panel for your user or rename the Custom folder?

Does resetting the panel completely not resolve it?
What happens if you restore to original size and manually enlarge the window in increments?
I wonder if using the Maximize button is the cause.
