Price Levels by Customer and Product Line - anyone used this in 4.5. I can't get this to work, not sure what I'm missing. I have the Price code setup, the record in the new pricel level/product line table, the Sales Order option set to use pricel level/price code, looked for any interference from item/customer specific pricing, not sure what I'm doing wrong???

Check this: http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=1290 Also did you import the price levels? There's a KB article somewhere that I saw today on tips/tricks.

no, we (or they - working with an IT person that has been using VI quite a bit) actually had issues trying to import the price level, something with the date field. It wasn't a big enough deal for me to spend a lot of time troubleshooting so they just manually entered.

If you pull up the item in Item Maintenance and go to Item Pricing, do you see your price LEVEL in there?

no - do we have to have price levels setup for all of the items and use price levels? In that table the price level isn't required so we were hoping to just have that table tied to the price codes and product lines (Customer/Price Code/Product Line), and our price codes are: 10,15,20,35 (all discount amounts)

I think you'll need to setup at least one price level and use that. It lets you leave it blank, but since the screen says Price Level, I'm guessing you have to have one. And it does work if you do.

it seems like having to enter price levels for every single item defeats the purpose if we just want price levels by product line. I'm still testing but if there is no type of price record for the item, I would think it would fall back to that customer/product line price level table and use that. but it doesn't appear to work that way. I'm baffled!

Wait. You can setup a price CODE by product line and then assign the price LEVEL for that code and not have to do it item by item or maybe I'm not getting what you're doing

that's what I'm attempting, after I created a price level for the item and deleted, now it seems ot be working. I'll test with another new item.

Seems to be working now - I think my issue was the Price Code on the item. It was blank or standard before - needs to be tied to the price code in the table, which isn't how we set up the table, so back to the drawing board. Thanks for your help!
