Preparing for a MAS200 upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4 with a client who has two MD enhancements. They want to do a test migration and have some key users work with 4.4 prior to actually doing the upgrade. Can I have two versions of 200 running on the same server if I use a different port on the service for each one or am I asking for a disaster. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Yes - never had an issue with that before.

Or Run the new install of MAS in MAS 90 mode and don't start the new MAS 200.

    It should work fine.

Yup, I've done this a number of times. I did run into an issue once last year where the folder paths in the 4.40 Test system > Company Maint somehow were pointing to the client's live MAS 200 4.30 system. So since then I make it a habit of periodically checking these paths. And as a precaution for that client during the Upgrade Testing phase, we did what @JeffSchwenk mentioned. I wondered if it had anything to do with where 4.30 Live and 4.40 Test resided on the server. Maybe they were too close together in the folder structure. Just make sure you don't have crm integration turned on. Delete the crm module from the test system.

Thanks for the input, I especially like Jeff's idea for running it in MAS90 mode - no services to mess with!

Just make sure to delete the crm stuff or you will get the user issues. Kevin Wesley Lehman, Wesley & Associates, Inc.
