premium v5.3.1 The delete ""X"" button is not active/available in deferred printing. How can the 1000+ print jobs in deferred printing be deleted?

    Reinitialize data files or DFDM?

Reinit what files? I found this on the KB but it says to delete the reports from the deferred printing first. 1.On the Sage MAS 90 or 200 File menu, click Deferred Printing. 2.Select the print job. 3.Click the Delete Report button to remove the job from the list. 4.In Windows Explorer, browse to the ..\Mas90\Home\Deferred\ folder, and delete all of the .m4d files. 5.Browse to the ..\Mas90\Home\Textout\ folder, and delete all of the dpxxx files (xxx = the print job number). 6.Browse to the ..\Mas90\Soa\ folder and rename the Sy0def.soa file. 7.Browse to the ..\Mas90\Mas_System\ folder, and rename the Sy_Deferred.m4t file. 8.On the Sage MAS 90 or 200 File menu, click Deferred Printing. Verify that all deferred print jobs have been removed.

Use SSMS to MAS_System.SY_Deferred table to delete framework reports. Use DFDM to delete from SY0DEF.soa for non-framework. Role Maintenance, Security Events, is the option delete all reports enabled? Just a few random thoughts . . .

Got it resolved. Thank you @RobertWhite for your help. Still unsure why the reports could not be deleted from the deferred printing screen. It wasn;t role related as I had admin/full rights to everything. Deleting the records from SY_Deferred was the key. I hate to start deleting records from tables without knowing the impact it could have on other tables, but all seems well.

Were they journals/registers or just regular reports? Registers are required to be printed before you can delete them

Yes, they are (were) all journals/registers. They are using Automatic Update and printing to deferred printing. I am sure it is working as Sage intended but it doesn't make business sense to me. If the purpose of forcing the user to print the journals is so the journal can be reviewed prior to updating, then the user shouldn't be allowed to auto-update prior to the journal being printed. Now their new procedure is to print to deferred until there are several thousand journals, then delete all of the records from SY_Deferred.

Not sure how the automatic update works with paperless but you might want to put them on paperless. Easier to delete if you don't need to keep registers.
