  • 1.  Premium 2020 conversion issue.

    Hi All   I am doing an upgrade from 2018 to 2020 (both Premium)  Both versions are on the same server.  The client has APS CCP and InSync.   The migration and conversion run with no issues at all and does not take all that long.   The issue is that the ldf files become HUGE.  One company it is 12 GB for another it is 10 GB.  In the live version, they are about 300,000kb.  I had their SQL admin check the settings (I looked as well) and all seems to be correct.   Any thoughts?   Have explained the issue to Sage (not much help/info) and APS- still waiting to hear back from them. 
      Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

    Check the recovery model for the databases.  If anything other than "Simple", you need to be running SQL backups (from within SQL) for the log files to be reset.

    I agree with Kevin, they are probably running the Full recovery model and not performing timely Log backups.  If they don't want to switch to Simple recovery, they can perform a Full Database Backup and a Full Log Backup and then you'll be able to Shrink the Log files back down.
