Pre-Summit Training Update: I have the outline from Alnoor. I'll post in a comment below. The basic concept is 1/2 day or less refresher, 3/4 day 2015 enhancements, and 3/4 day intermediate. The mix may vary a bit more between the 2015 and intermediate as the course gets developed. Paul was on vacation last week and I will follow up with him tomorrow on the arrangement for payment. My understanding and let me know if I have any of it incorrect: It will be an invoice swap with no need for checks to be cut and the ""swap"" would be Platinum Sponsorship for the rest of the year for Alnoor's services. @PeterWolf was that just for services or services, hotel, and ancillary? Jim is working with the Marriott to get the room. Those talks were initiated last week. Jim has the Eventbrite page ready and is just waiting on the outline (again, I'll post below) and pricing. Pricing is $800 early bird on sale 4/24 and $1000 regular going live 6/5. That was based on 18 people being break even. Prerequisites are you have to have attended the beginner's class or special dispensation from Alnoor. We can send out an email to all of the previous beginner's attendees when the tickets go live or just before. Alnoor informed me on Friday that he hadn't gotten everything arranged with Nicole as I had believed he had told me, so I'm going to reach out to her this week. He seemed to think there would be no problem but we had a bit of a conversation about her now working for Baesis and that her employers may expect something. We also discussed Plans B, C, & D. Unfortunately we only got Plan B figured out but it's a workable plan. We can talk about that more later. We should get a save the date post up as soon as I can confirm terms with Paul.

    I'm excited by this outline.

My recollection of Peter's barter thread is that we trade Vendor Membership for Alnoor's/Nicole's fee. We would still pay for out of pocket expenses (to someone) as we have in the past.

@RobertWood - These new admin posts aren't showing up in my home stream. Is there a setting that I am missing?

  • 6.  RE: Pre-Summit Training Update:I have the outline fr

    Posted 04-13-2015 09:35
@JeffSchwenk I'm not sure. The Home Stream should be all users and groups you follow.

@RobertWood - Keep me posted on what you find out. Would like a resolution as I miss too many posts.

@JeffSchwenk are you looking at the Company Stream or the Home Stream?

  • 9.  RE: Pre-Summit Training Update:I have the outline fr

    Posted 04-13-2015 10:19
Home stream is what I thought was suppose to show all groups that I was in. That is usually the only one I look at.

    Posted 04-13-2015 10:21
Home Stream is the one that shows all groups you are in. There isn't really a way to exclude a group from the Home Stream. If you were in the Company Stream, it only shows ""public"" groups. It won't display ""private"" groups like Admin.

Home is where the heart is and is where I look 95% of the time. Not sure why Admin is not appearing for me.

I spoke with Paul. He's good with swapping invoices and always glad to reduce any chances of audit risk. He's going to come up with the amount including expenses and we will invoice him that amount and he will invoice us back the same amount. When he sends me the amount, I'll forward it to @JeffSchwenk. Cool? This will only be for Alnoor. I will get with Nicole and see what we can work out.

I don't have any problem paying Alnoor directly for his expenses. That way we can keep it apples to apples. Expenses are variable. What vendor member value is Paul going to get for $6,854.29 (854.29 is travel expense) He gets 6 months premier membership for $6K.

  • 14.  RE: Pre-Summit Training Update:I have the outline fr

    Posted 04-15-2015 15:38
I think the point is, Paul gets a $6,000 vendor membership and we get Alnoor's training for $6,000. The difference for Alnoor's expenses would go directly to pre-Summit training expenses, whether you pay it to Alnoor directly or include it in the swapping of invoices with Paul. Not sure if there are accounting issues to deal with, are there @JeffSchwenk ?

@JeffSchwenk it feels like you're second guessing everything I try to do. Very frustrating! I'm doing the best I can and trying to pitch in where Peter has resigned. I volunteered. No one else said 'boo' one way or the other. Work with me here and cut me some slack. Please and thank you!

Paul has agreed to pick up Alnoor's expenses. He would like to receive an invoice for $7,882.76 for his half year platinum vendor membership. He will in turn, invoice us for $7,882.76 to cover Alnoor's services ($6,900) plus expenses ($982.76). I would say we just go ahead and start his vendor membership now but whatever the group says is fine withe me. He would still like to just swap invoices and no one has to cut a check. @JeffSchwenk, please invoice xkzero for $7,882.76 for his partial year Platinum Vendor Membership.

All. I have 2 quotes for the classroom and lunch. One at the Marriott and one at the Hilton. Looks like the Room and Lunch are about $1400 per day ( about what we thought) Have you guys made reservation at any hotels yet. We might be able to move farther away but I don't think the cost will change that much so I am thinking we want to be close to the CC and be centrally located.

Agree on close. No preference on which hotel.

@RobertWood - Do you have a link to the budget spreadsheet? Is there a maximum class size this year?

  • 23.  RE: Pre-Summit Training Update:I have the outline fr

    Posted 04-20-2015 13:53
@RobertWood can we post the course outline from Alnoor and put a link in the Eventbrite invite? @JimWoodhead any decision on where the session will be? I see that Early Registration is set to be posted this Friday. Can we firm up the location?

  • 24.  RE: Pre-Summit Training Update:I have the outline fr

    Posted 04-20-2015 18:52
Jim is still working on hotels. Maximum class size is 20. I'll have to find the budget spreadsheet. We had a couple of different ones going around. I believe the break even was figured at 18 as all prior scripting sessions have. @WayneSchulz do you have the budget spreadsheet you were working on while we talked the other day? We will need to pickup Nicole's hotel for the two nights of the training. She has agreed to assist. I'll stay in the loop as a backup in case something comes up. I'll get a save the date post up either tonight or in the morning. The plan is to have Eventbrite up and running by the end of the week in the hopes that Jim will have the hotel worked out.

Here's the budget that we've been working from https://docs.google.com/a/community.90minds.com/spreadsheets/d/1xpNz3HKi6kHNPc2OMIVJVR6z4l2bYcBFt2g8Rt3Hr38/edit#gid=0

Might have been discussed above but one thing that is a little different is we are only allowing people from the prior classes to register for this one. That limits us to (approx) the 40 people who've taken Alnoor's class before as the potential maximum. Anyone who hasn't attended would need to get permission from Alnoor. Hard to predict how many of from those prior classes will register again.

Made some adjustments to the budget. Put Alnoor Expenses at actual and added Therese's admin fee. we are currently at a $1,500 Deficit (Subsidy). I think this is reasonable. Amounts will change once Jim inks the meals and meeting rooms.
