Pre-MotM 2016* Training Update: There isn't really an update. The initial plan we had discussed was a second shot at MotF (Minds of the Future...I need a recording of Judy Dench saying that). This time it would be with Ron Baker and Ed Kless. The cost to 90 Minds would be $10k for Ron Baker and $0k for Ed Kless presuming he is still employed by Sage. It might not be unreasonable to have to pick up Ed's hotel and possibly airfare, but it's unlikely. Baker's price is all inclusive. We should probably decide whether to commit or not pretty soon to lock them in on the calendar. Thoughts? Is this still the direction we should go? *Added year to reduce confusion.

I'm good with Minds of the Future. Do we want to consider creating a committee to begin session planning and then have one of the first tasks be to brainstorm pre-event sessions?

What? Thought that was dead in the water. This is the first since the SD discussion that I know of that it is still in the realm of possibilities.. Was this even mentioned at last admin meeting?? Seems the focus was on other things. The 20K SWAG budgeted in my mind was ONLY for Alnoor intermediate training. 20K will not cover two sessions. While I was good with the concept back in February, I don't see this being feasible at this late date.

Literally nothing has changed since February. I hadn't heard anyone decide we weren't going to do it.

Out of sight, out of mind. Going to be a stretch now. What is the budget?

This is for next year MOTM not the current pre-conference for Summit. We are only running one pre-Summit event and that is scripting.

@JeffSchwenk how are we coming on the 2016 budget? JK!

The only numbers I have are the above. I had reached out to Ed tentatively to get an idea if a) they'd be interested, and b) get rough pricing. I'm just trying to get the conversation started back up for exactly your point, Jeff. Out of sight, out of mind. Wayne has a good point, we should probably be working on sessions for next MotM.

What is left to do??? Waiting on recommendations for any alterations of payments to worker bees (i.e. vendor membership, education and Events). Now we have a proposal of a facilitator for reorganization but I have seen NO number associated with that. And the cloud mandate is now $3K over budget. IF I could figure out how to upload the MOTM 2015 actual expenses to Google, I would. Otherwise, it will be posted in Admin later today. And what is there to form a committee on regarding planning? We have one or two sessions? Turn Jim and Therese loose. It would seem that it is their responsibility. Too many cooks in the kitchen leaves a bitterness in my mouth. Sorry, NOT in the mood for joking these days!

Are we talking NOLA for Ed and Ron or San Diego 2016?

San Diego 2016 which was the root of the non funny joke. I added the year to the original post after where it said pre-MotM 2016.

I thought the conversation back in Feb was more geared toward NOLA, not 2016, thus the joke flew right past me.

@JeffSchwenk I believe we briefly talked about it but decided that scripting was the way to go for NOLA and that MotF would work at MotM. There wasn't a formal resolution on MotF at in February just that we'd think about it. Plus, NOLA could be difficult to get Kless since he'll presumably be busy going in.

BTW, I have done everything I said I would do on this event. I'm passing the baton to @ThereseLogeais to take it from here. I'll be glad to assist you further , Therese, if asked. As I said before, the dates should be firmed up shortly or one of them may be unavailable.

Thanks @RobertWood but will this be a two day event or a one day Minds of the Future, i.e. one day Thursday or two day Wednesday and Thursday? I need to know what you've discussed with Ed and/or Ron. Thanks.

  • 16.  RE: Pre-MotM 2016* Training Update:There isn't reall

It's a two day event. I just forwarded the email thread to you. That thread is the entirety of all conversations had. The middle email, the one with Ed's reply, has the most information on it. I'll be glad to help in any way I can including being contacts with Ron and Ed or if you'd prefer, I could handle introductions/hand off.

My email: Ed I hope your day is going great. Mine will be when I finish waking up. Would you and Ron be willing/interested in doing a Firm of the Future two-day event for 90 Minds before either Summit or Meeting of the Minds or possibly even as a standalone event? What would the cost be for something like that? Thanks! Ed's email: Robert, Of course we would. Assuming I am employed by Sage at the time (hey, you never know and I have no plans) I would be free unless we are are travel restriction, in which case you might have to pick up my travel. Ron charges $10K for for the two-day session with a 100 percent money back guarantee. If you have any questions, please feel free to text, email or call me. Take care, Ed Kless

Both Ron and Ed have agreed to a two day Minds of the Future pre-MotM 2016 session. It's a go!

I am glad I have reserved 30 room nights for Tues and Wed nights. It would be great to get 30+ in that class!!

We also extended an invitation to Ed and Ron to stick around for as much of the conference as they would like. I doubt they'll accept or stick around beyond the first day, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

They can only contribute as far as I'm concerned.

Can you extend an invitation to them for the Summit get together? They can do a little ""presell"" in the process.

I emailed Ron today to let him know if he's at Summit he will be invited once the details get worked out.
