Interesting situation presented yesterday.  Client wanted to know which employees had an email address in the employeedocuments table that was different than the email address in the employee master table.  Easy enough I thought - Run an Excel query to pull the values out of both tables and compare.  But like many things that are supposed to be quick and easy, this one went down the rabbit hole.

Ran the query and sent the results to client.   They replied that the results were incorrect.  Some of the email addresses from the employee documents table were missing.  Sure enough, I looked in Sage and there they were in in plain sight.  So I spent the next hour wrassling with the query joins.  No luck.  I looked in DFDM to verify the joins were working.

Then I notice that the missing email address fields have an encryption key.  What gives.

It appears that I need to write a Crystal report to pull the emails going forward.

Does anyone know of a different way to quickly pull this data?

Not sure of a "different" way but it shouldn't take long to create a Crystal report for this.  Pain that it has to be run from within the custom reports menu though.

I think I tried that when I was trying this same thing.  The Employee Documents email is not in the PII table so it can't be pulled.
