  • 1.  Post Cost of Goods Sold in S/O - Miscellaneous Items

    Need a sanity check. I've always been under the assumption that unchecking the box "Post to G/L - Cost of Goods Sold" would prevent any posted costs for miscellaneous items when entered on S/O invoices. Has this never been the case? Could it be through all these years my clients just happen to use A/R invoicing only, have all zeroes in the cost field, or the same GL account in inventory and COGS fields where they always offset, or did something change? 

    I just tested 2023/2024 and it's definitely posting costs, even if disabled.

    I always ASSUMED it just applied to AR, but ya da ya da ASS, etc.

    I am with @Beth Bowers in the ASSUMPTION department.  IMHO, it was always an AR invoicing issue, not SO invoicing.  Of my clients using AR only, it mainly for billing misc invoices without any COGS.  Reading the help text on this field, it is ambiguous on whether it applies to SO.  I think not.
