PO Landed Cost. Most customers don't have an invoice with freight and other landed costs at the time of PO Receipt of Goods. Consequently, they can't allocate landed costs to items. Does anyone know of a solution for this, either third-party software or a procedural workaround?

I know many folks will estimate it at time of ROG. And in some cases I've seen folks work with the vendor to get this information more timely. Or of course you can hold off on performing ROG until you get the invoice, but obviously that could negatively impact Inventory.

In some products the landed cost will adjust the inventory valuation after ROG. I am too far removed from 100 to know if it works like a negative tier adjustment, but many products are smart enough in their landed cost processing to handle.

@GaryFeldman, standard Sage 100 doesn't allow for that.

I have had clients that adopted standard inbound landed costs. They then treated the difference as purchasing variances. Over time they would adjust the standard costs as necessary.

Procedural work around..... A while back at an old company I created a ""full absorption processing document"". Attached. Our purchaser would estimate the 3rd party freight on the PO lines tab as a /c to inform ROG person to enter the landed costs. then ROI would be created. there was a slight variance, but could see the ins and outs
