Sage 100

An existing Sage 100 2018 Advanced customer is asking if there's a way to add a promise date onto PO in addition to the existing required date. I'm not 100% certain why they want an additional date except they want to track when they need the item by vs when the vendor promises to deliver it.

I think this is a pretty straightforward UDF --- until they ask the next logical question of wanting to run reports against this UDF which likely greatly expands the scope - especially if they somehow want to work it into a production report.

Has anyone dealt with this type of request and come up with a solution other than adding a UDF? 

Also, if I'm overlooking some native functionality I'm happy to be corrected and point this customer toward an existing feature.

I've add this request in several flavors.  I've always handled this via a UDF.   Purchasing often needs 2-3 dates - required, shipping date(s).  I'd ask if they need this at a line level or header since sometimes its only the header, but often it's at the lines.  The next issue is if they want to auto-calculate any of these dates.

That's what I'm concerned about. Adding a detail UDF is no problem. If the customer expects that UDF will be useable in all reports and in existing calculations - that's the issue I was trying to avoid a misunderstanding with.
