  • 1.  PM-MTS Release of the IRP product (MRP Replacement)

    Posted 07-30-2019 13:08
I just noticed that with a 7/29/2019 date, the new Inventory Requirement Planning (IRP) product for Production Management - MTS, has been released.  It is the replacement for MRP Module, but without projected demands.  No ETA when projected demands will be included.  I've just requested keys to see what it looks like.  I know a few of the RKL Consultants took the web course earlier in July, and were provided the Reseller Manual, and an overview of the product.

There is a new Sage City forum thread.

Forum: Sage 100 Announcements, News, and Alerts

    Inventory Requirements Planning

Inventory Requirements Planning (IRP), which replaces the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) module, is now available to you if you currently have MRP. IRP will be available to all Sage 100 customers in the near future. With IRP, you can:

    • Generate recommended purchase and production item quantities using cut-off dates and lead times.
    • Edit the recommended quantity, vendor, and unit price for items to be purchased, and then click a button to create the purchase orders.
    • Edit recommended make quantities for items to be produced, and then click a button to create the work tickets. (Production Management is required to create work tickets.)

Note: To get the most value out of IRP, you are encouraged to install each IRP update as it becomes available.

    Download and install this update

Important: If you use third-party products that integrate with Sage 100, check with the vendor of your third-party product to ensure their product is fully compatible with this release. If you integrate with other Sage products, check with your business partner or Sage to ensure that these components are compatible.

If Sage 100 2019.1 is already installed skip to Step 6:

    1. Download Sage 100 2019.
    2. If you are prompted to log on, enter your Customer Portal Username and Password, and then click Log on.
    3. Fully install Sage 100 2019.
    4. Download Sage 100 2019.1.
    5. Fully install Sage 100 2019.1.
    6. Download Inventory Requirements Planning: https://info.scanco.com/prod-mgmt-downloads

Oh no.  That is going to end badly for someone.  NO warning here in this message that installing Production Management, turns off and disables work order and MRP module, completely; for all companies. An email from Darin says that there are end users trying to implement PM-MTS alone, and it is not pretty. They all should be usin their reseller to install it.  Hmmmm...

Is this just in Sage City or do you know if Sage or Scanco is emailing end users?

Sage should be putting out a message, even if Scanco wrote PM.  However, that would require Sage to admit they need the channel.

Post at Sage City, Sage needs the reminder about the channel.

Sage posted that article.  Frontline support goes to Sage directly; they may get very busy. Joe B and Darin S tell me that Sage is slow to approve any documentation releases. Even the help files are not available until you add registration keys for PM-MTS after it is installed.

Scanco is hoping to release some documentation to resellers soon. It's not yet approve by Sage. September is plan for customer training... guess we should see documentation, then.
