From time to time you may receive connection requests from LinkedIn profiles that also claim affiliation with 90 Minds.

If you receive them, please take a minute to also report them to LinkedIn instead of just ignoring. That way we can prevent them from contacting other users.

    When I click Report/Block I select

Report - and as the reason "I think this person does not represent a real individual"

Please do not accept the connection or it begins to build credibility for whatever scam the account is trying to pull.

I just got the same request from LI. Normally, I would have just deleted the e-mail and moved on but I took your advice and reported it.

I'm not sure what the scam is but it appears to start with creating a fake profile and working to build up the reputation by connecting to other valid profiles with the same affiliation.

It's weird they use an overseas location because I rarely accept any connection from overseas since nearly 100% are followed by an email or message about how they want to be an outsource IT/Developer for $5/hour.

I also never accept any connection from the so-called business marketers. I must get 12 a week from people who try to sign me up for a marketing service of some sort. Probably 1/2 the profiles are fake but I feel bad for the other half because it seems as if they took some quick course that told them the way to grows their business was to spam anyone who will accept a LinkedIn request.

Perhaps need to update the 90 Minds Consulting group LinkedIn to 'on approval' which is what I thought was the setting.
